45 % of turnover is all staff from manager too part time staff. compared to other retail companys this is very high, i left dsg around 6 months ago, i visited my local pc world and currys a couple of days ago, pc world was fairly busy yet 3 members of staff felt it was ok to lean on the key advertised deal and chat while customers were not being served, in currys 2 members of staff were trying to complete a credit agreement for a customer and then kept making mistakes and cancelling and starting again....multiple credit agreements are automaticaly refused and this was in fact what happened so the customer in the end left with out making a purchase. as for your theory about me being a disgruntled former employee...well youare wide of the mark i left because the company lost the plot when it comes to customer service, when you have a store like say currys that stocks around 3500 items has complex items, complex systems credit agreements etc etc. yet allows the high turnover of staff to continue then working there becomes impossible, the company employs test shopping companys and for the past 5 years have seen poor results yet the fact is that you can walk into a store and want to buy a double electric oven, a dvd recorder or say a vacum cleaner for someone with a dust allergy and you will be faced with a member of staff that either does not know because they have only just started, or will not have the knowledge because they have been there a short while or you will find someone that does know the answers have been there a few years but will leave because the conditions of work in the stores plus renumeration are very bad. as for the visit too pc world i could have taken my coat off and i would have easily been a top 3 salesperson that day out of the 15 on duty because the others were new not motivated as it was a pin money job for them or lacking skills because they had only just started. to beat argos and supermarkets you have to give better service than them, everyone associates dixons with cameras and good advice currys are white goods tvs etc etc and good advice from staff......its not happening all dsg are interested in is saving a few quid employing part time staff or minimum wage staff, and saving that few quid is in fact costing them thousands of pounds. its unfortunate that the people that make the decisions and policys are clueless, happy shorting and ian go in and test the water yourself.
