I need to be more scientific/logical in my share dealings. This is my attempt to try to do that. My reasoning is that if I have to announce why I've bought or sold a particular share it will hopefully educate me, highlight mistakes that I keep making, and make me a better investor. At the moment, I tend to buy purely through "gut" feelings after reading the papers and the ADVFN free BB, and then maybe look at the company site, before diving in.
I have come to the conclusion that the only way that I am going to be able to achieve this is through honesty. I did think of listing my holdings as percentages of my total portfolio, but sod it, honesty is the best policy (?). So I am now going to go away and list all of my holdings, and what price I paid for them.
My intention is to treat this as a confessional share diary, but rather than adhoc entries, I will post every Sunday evening. I sincerely hope that I will maintain this diary, because I think that it will definetly help me. Until Sunday evening when I will list my starting point........DYOR
