Datong Electronics - One to watch? Or maybe they are watching you?

One of the Yorkshire Post's Share Tips of the Year for 2006 - newspaper and its journalists seem to favour locally based companies and Datong is apparently part-located in Leeds:
QUOTE
I still believe that surveillance is a growth area - I would be very surprised if Quadnetics has a quiet 2006 - and I'm backing Datong Electronics.
The Leeds-based company operates in the world of covert security, where clients don't want anyone to know how they hunt terrorists, criminals and drug traffickers. It made its AIM debut this year.
I can't tell you much about the two products Datong launched on the market this year, or others in the pipeline. Datong will only say that they are "beacon and receiver" systems.
The firm sells its products to government, military and federal law enforcement agencies to help their agents track hostile vehicles, packages, containers and mobile phones.
It exports 80 per cent of its products, with the US government accounting for around 50 per cent of sales.
Datong was founded in 1974 by David Arthur Tong - hence the name - an amateur radio enthusiast and Leeds University lecturer who started making accessories for fellow radio buffs.
Mr Tong has since left the firm which employs 75 staff at its headquarters and manufacturing base on an industrial estate in West Park, Leeds and another three at its US office in Chantilly, Virginia, near Washington DC.
Homeland security will always be a paramount concern for every US administration, so I believe Datong's obsession with discretion won't stop it from attracting canny investors.
Datong's shares closed 2005 at 145.5p.
