Daniel Stewart - a new investment bank hits AIM!

I would expect that the following Standard Life news released less than an hour ago should have a positive knock-on effect for DAN who IMHO are at least 50% undervalued at current levels- has anyone else got an opinion on this ?

Standard Life UK 2006 IPO proceeds jump 151 pct - survey

LONDON (AFX) - The amount of money raised by companies listing in the UK
more than doubled this year, according to a survey by Ernst & Young, Dealogic
and Thomson Financial.

The survey shows that 18.6 bln usd was raised through listings by domestic
companies in 2006, up 151 pct from 7.4 bln usd in 2005. There were a total of
142 listings, a 20 pct increase from 118 in 2005, with the stock market launch
of former mutual insurer Standard Life PLC ranking as the largest.

Listings by overseas firms generated a further 22 bln usd, up from 13 bln
usd the previous year, led by the IPO of Russian oil major Rosneft.
Ernst & Young IPO expert David Wilkinson said the increase in foreign
listings partly reflected the US onerous Sarbanes-Oxley corporate governance
laws, which have deterred many international groups from selling shares in New
York.

"The London markets are proving extremely attractive for foreign investors
for a number of reasons" he said in a statement.

"Undoubtedly a desire to move outside of the Sarbanes Oxley corporate
governance provisions is part of the mix. But just as important, is the fact
that a wide range of companies, including small and mid-cap, can attract
institutional investment in London."

The increase in London listings reflected worldwide trends, with total
global IPO proceeds rising to 227 bln usd from 167 bln usd last year, the survey
shows.

NB. Incidentally the total amount of shares bought in DVS since 8th December outnumbers shares sold by 1.45:1, so a raft of investors are certainly interested in buying some cheap stock there, it would appear ??
