Clearly there are oil flares where I guess gas is mixed with oil in some way but if there is a cap of gas over say a large oil find would some other method be needed to extract the oil such as drill from another loacation or extract gas 1st and then drill lower. Presumably 3D analysis will indicate whats there both in scale and type. Your view that absurd not to drill further must be for some practical reason suggests these questions.
