DANA PETROLEUM: DRILLING FOR 1 BILLION BARRELS OF OIL

This notification relates to issued ordinary shares of 15p each in the capita)
of the Company ("shares") and is given in fulfilment of the obligations imposed
by sections 198 to 203 of the Companies Act 1985 (the "Act").

We hereby notify you that on 13 December 2005, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.,
("GS Inc") of 85 Broad Street, New York, NY 10004, USA, was interested, by
attribution only, in a total of 19,208,437 shares.

Now where the blue blazes did that size of a holding appear from given they weren't even a notifiable holder previously??!! Is it the MHR holding? Have they shuffled the pack?
