Bare the problem I see is that with the government still only talking about a 5% blend by 2010 they are dragging their heels as much as they dare and they probably have access to far more oil than they are letting on. If market makers can mislead investors by tweaking prices you can bet your bottom oily dollar that governments are capable of hiking up prices of mineral oil knowing that they have plenty still available. Iran is next target to steal oil from and so it will continue. Without genuine support for a UK based biofuel industry both DOO and BFC will struggle and I don't see either as a safe investment any more. I have run my car on about 90% biodiesel for about 2 1/2 years now and I really wanted to invest long term in the industry. I met Francis Maude (Tory Chairman)a few days ago at my local biofuel outlet. Only had chance to say hello but will share the 'blue biofuel' view as soon as I hear what he had to say. Blair has become Thatcher and is bigging up nuclear power again. I can see him importing biofuel from Europe, although the BFC plant WILL be fixed up and used by someone sometime - maybe not in February though. The international jury is still out on Jatropha despite its benefits.
