I think the point is that with the means of accounting currently used the cost of sales is for the period defined but the turnover is only partially represented in the figures as some will be carried over to the following periods. A increase in cost of sales demonstrates a large volume of business done which will not necessarily appear in the figures for the period in question.

It makes it very difficult to evaluate progress but, the company are busy and added 100 new customers in six months. The figures seem designed to hide progress i.e. Stating the number of customers for fleetstar online rather than the total for the company so like for like can not be applied. Why would the management want to surpress the SP?.
