mickconn11,
A senior broker told me on Friday (i.e. yesterday, 30th December 2005) that he had that morning bought millions of pounds of stocks for hedge fund managers who were concerned to have high closing values for computation of their 20% performance fees. At the risk of being my thought sanctimonious, this is actually theft on the fund managers' part.
I suspect that Connaught has had the same treatment. The share price stands at insane levels on fundamental grounds and the company itself shows no signs of generating cash.
If I am right on the manipulation, January 2006 should see Connaught decline.
