Nikkibrookes, well in the first post she or he used the word "shit", not the language of an FD on a bulletin board, but was a little amusing although not so sure about the facts that were quoted.
sharesure a well respected poster here mentioned Tullow oil and 30,000 barrels per day, I am no great expert however some oil drilling guru here, perhaps Alfred will be able to advise approx how many wells need to be drilled to produce that amount of oil, the original Alea back in was it 1988 produced 533 barrels, I assume with increased technology and the ability to increase flow rates that could mean one well could perhaps produce lets say 1200 barrels a day, therefore to get to 30,000 barrels you are talking approx 25 wells.
Lets say 14 days per drill, if drilled seperately and assuming the continuous use of a rig, that's 350 days or about a year to reach that volume, alot of assumptions but interesting. Of course we will be drilling at Primavera and Puerto Lopez so the time could be reduced significantly.
Be very interested to hear views on this in particular what rates of flow can be achieved with one drill with a good reservoir.
