rougebull - lots of major retail shareholders were approched to sell at a good deal in early December - why ?
Was this because SB didn't really want to sell, but JS was just wanting to get out (needed the cash for his new venture) - however the difference would need to be made up by retail investors.
Most retail holders clung onto TR's words and believed that the company was working on some massive deals (myself included). In reality a lot of the deals went pear shaped for one reason or another as was made apparent.
SB (a guy not known for his bullish statements "Mr Satisfactory"), saw that on the only occasion he'd had justification in being bullish - screwed up, through no fault of his own, just that the prospective clients' circumstances changed.
He needed to sell a good chunk of his holding to satisfy Griffin and given the shame of "hyping" the company only to see it flounder, thought that the honourable thing to do was to relinquish the reins (because he already has a retirement fund in the millions anyway) altogether to his good mate Tony who may be able to mark a mark for himself in the same vein as SB.
