And with a dwindling tourist industry Jersey needs the development from a brand that will attract visitors. Implementation of employment laws is likely to see employment costs rise which will impact hotels and restaurants margins resulting in price increases or more closures. Price increases will adversely impact an already overpriced region, particularly with families (rather than the predominant older visitors) and the Centreparcs scheme could have a sizeable impact in reinvigorating the family holiday to Jersey. Centreparcs also do very well in winter breaks and that is something that would benefit Jersey as well, as the tourist industry in winter is almost non-existent. They might grumble and grown but the economics of a scheme like this to Jersey mean IMHO,DYOR, it is unlikely not to happen. For Centreparcs, the correct corporate structure could mean lower tax and high levels of immigrant labour in Jersey may mean staff costs are lower than the UK. A tie in with flights might also bring an advantage of a relatively small additional revenue stream but will be necessary to get people to the island cheaply
