I have always been just plain "W" here, though I do use "Wendy" elsewhere.

Re: this company, I still hold the stock because I do believe (and have always believed) that CDN has good potential. A few effective trades during 2004 mean that I am sitting at about break even, so have no issues about holding them anyway.

But I DO get annoyed when folk on virtually every minex thread I read keep rabbiting on about wanting more and better "PR" and weekly UKREG announcements and newspaper mentions and Minesite articles and tipster tips and rampy BB threads - simply to keep the share price up.

I agree with jpon that presentations to potential major shareholders are a desirable activity - as I remember, CDN spent several weeks last spring doing precisely that, in both the UK and Europe. Surely it's not necessary more than once or twice a year?

But that's not what most people mean by "PR".

What they actually WANT is a Dattels-style promotion, to raise the share price. What they don't realise is that even a Dattels-style promotion wouldn't work for longer than T+15 or T+20 in the current market, because the traders who now dominate the market are looking for one thing and one thing only - a fast return. They can't afford to pay for the volumes of stock they buy on T+, so a wave of selling always follows a wave of buying. Watch the pop stocks and you can see it happening before your very eyes.

The market is very different to the Autumn of 2003 when CDN was ramped to the skies on nothing by an unscrupulous bunch of get-rich-quickers. The only thing that will now move the price in a sustainable fashion is performance, performance and performance.
