I`m afraid Mr Baxter had much more to say than that. He also seems to want the independents to sign up to the banking code of conduct. As I see it they just offer a service to dispense money if you choose to use it. It hardly makes them a bank.
I didn’t know there were cash only cards, so I can see his point about protecting the poorest in society. Surely though this is all the governments fault for getting us in the situation where the sub post offices and bank branches are closing, with benefit only be paid via a savings account. Typical government, make a balls of everything then blame everyone else for the consequences.
