I do not normally post on these boards because if one is not in the clique of the regular posters you either get ignored or abused.
However there are a few things you need to bear in mind with Canterbury Foods. Thier problems may not only be in connection with their meat business, which has now been sold to Tranfield. Yes they may well have a viable pastry business however they could also have problems there, and if they do they will be being heavily penalised by the buyers in the catering industry for supplying defective products. These penalties may be large.
On the upside though if Canterbury Foods were to go out of business tomorrow then all of the companies who take their products would have a massive headache to find new suppliers of possibly some of the most popular products that serve a wide range of end users. It seems inconceivable to me that another food supplier would not hesitate at the chance to buy them out. I could be wrong.
I've been lucky enough to have made some surplus funds recently and I may gamble a little of it tomorrow. And just in case you think I'm a ramper it will be a maximum of £1K. Make of this post what you will.
