1709 GMT [Dow Jones] Maiden (MDN.LN) ends +20% at 95p on news it has been approached by several parties, notes analyst. Says careful reading of the last part of its previous statement reveals a clear flag for the news, and notes press speculation that says the interest is for private equity and/or venture capitalists. Says as it does have a strong position strategically, believes the shares would fetch "north of a pound" but believes a trade buyer would be likely to pay more than a financial one.
