Company Honoured for Outstanding Financial and Technological Growth


CAMBRIDGE, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 2005--After recognition from the financial industry and London stock market, CSR plc (LSE:CSR - News) a wireless solutions provider and leader in Bluetooth technology, has been honoured by members of the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA). At an awards dinner held at the Santa Clara Convention Center, California, on Thursday 8 December, Paul Goodridge, Finance Director for CSR accepted the award for 'Outstanding Financial Performance by a Public Fabless Company'.
CSR has experienced a year of rapid growth and expansion. The company announced record results for both revenue and operating profit for the third quarter ended 30 September 2005, whilst for the period 1 January 2005 to 30 September 2005, CSR achieved revenue of $323.6m compared with $173.4m for the same period in 2004. The company also increased the number of employees globally from 316 at 31 December 2004 to 650 by 30 September 2005 and completed two acquisitions. CSR success has been achieved at the same time as continued growth in, the overall market for Bluetooth which has increased by over 90% compared to 2004.

CSR is the acknowledged leader within the Bluetooth market, through its development of a portfolio of single chip solutions for wireless voice and data communication. This covers basic Bluetooth file exchange to complex stereo music and call management capability for the new wireless stereo headset market targeted for use with mobile phones and portable media players.

During 2005, the company opened design centres in Lund, Sweden and Sophia Antipolis, France and acquired both Clarity Technologies Inc and the software business of UbiNetics Holdings Limited in order to further extend CSR's wireless technology offering.

This growth was acknowledged by the Outstanding Financial Performance Award which recognised the steep increase in CSR's revenue and net income over eight consecutive quarters, ending in June 2005.

On accepting the award, Goodridge commented, "2005 has been an outstanding year for us. Our core Bluetooth market has grown and developed at a rapid rate and we have developed our offering to include other wireless standards which offer even more potential for growth in 2006 and beyond."
