Agreed. Don't know too much about gilts but Wendy seems to think that he is more often right than wrong. Personally I believe that he may make the right calls but takes it too far such as the comment about returning to 3.5p.
Post consoldiation it's often the case that a stock will retrace especially when the initial direction is uncertain. CDN has just moved from Explorer to Producer and so will be cash generative shortly. Sentimant will hopefully change accordingly however the intial uncertainty was something we were all aware of although secretly did not wish to acknowledge.
