The percentage of bankrupticies is insignificant compared to the value added to the economy.

Nearly everyone takes a mortgage so what's the big deal?

I think some are a wee bit jealous that others can keep a decent lifestyle by borrowing a few quid, the chattering classes begrudge this and like to keep the less well funded in their place.
