Carl/Pillbox thanks for your thoughtful replies. As I put it, it can happen that serendipity delivers a new successful business but I will wait and see. Btw, I held BTG, thankfully getting out a couple of hundred £ up when the rpice was over 100p.
(Carphones were the source of a great deal of wealth for Carphone Warehouse - you can see exmaples of the book size 'mobiles' at their HQ) and they were very aptly named for some years. CPW decided the name had a brand value and kept it when the phones and their business became more 'mobile'.
