Silverfern - sorry, with the racist under currents, I neglected to pay your post much attention. I am a holder of BGT as you may gather from my posts so my response to your comments may well be viewed as one sided, however I think my point holds water...
This is what you said, a summation of your post 794 -
"They did not plan this business and they are not set up to deliver it; I think this is nothing and will not be buying. Just MHO."
I'm not sure how much you actually know about BGT's business model, strategy and capabilities but your post does expose some ignorance which I hope I can adequately address...
They did not plan this business...ok, which "business" do you mean? Lets assume you mean the iDVD game. Well, they have gained a license, completed adequate R&D and now have a product that is on sale in most major retailers and widely available on the internet...I guess they planned that so perhaps that is not the business you mean??
Assuming you mean the ASIC side of the business - they have developed a chip that is now protected by numerous patents. They have managed to secure an agreement with Radica who are now wholly owned by Mattel and a toy incorporating the chip will be on sale presumably world wide next year, probably within the first 7 months...again, BGT must have put some thought into this and I guess some planning was involved...
"They are not set up to deliver it"...deliver what exactly? The Tomb Raider game is on sale, pretty much “delivered” if you ask me - I have a copy in my house. Further titles are on the way and the title I have been saying was in the pipeline for some time now has been confirmed although I guess BGT were not anticipating telling the market just yet and the specifics will follow - If I were put on the spot I would say they will deliver that title to! If you refer to ASIC I refer to my point above re a Radica/Mattel branded toy will soon be on sale with the chip inside...once again, “delivered”.
Granted, BGT started off with Bubble which let's not forget is a great product, just priced wrongly imo but successful companies are those that spot opportunities and change accordingly. Did you know Nokia started life as a Wood pulp and paper company? Some turn around huh?! And even looking towards our generation I could pick out 10's of companies that diversify and alter business models frequently, M&S changing focus and looking to food amongst other things to help bolster their figures, supermarkets selling ...well everything from insurance and estate agent services to good old tins of beans, and even trusty CARPHONE WAREHOUSE got it wrong in the beginning - "carphone" warehouse. They are called this because they thought carphones were going to be a hit. Wrong! They did however realise this and changed their focus accordingly, they kept the name due to high street presence and the fact people were aware of it, the rest is history...my point - be careful when you write a company off just because they don't get it spot on first time round...they could still know exactly what they are doing! In BGT's case, i'd argue that they most certainly do...
