bright future for bgt
Carl79 - Thu, 28 Dec 06 :
Thanks Water, im glad you found my posts informative...well done on building up your stake.
Traide - the point of iDVD games as I see it is to allow the stories of complex computer games such as Tomb Raider to unfold to an audience who may well find the story interesting but do not like the complex control mechanism involved in playing the game to completion - or have the patience to commit the 40-100hrs playing time some of these games require. Game controllers these days come with around 10 different buttons/directional pads for the gamer to master - not so easy for everyone...especially the young
Some of the games today are like films (in fact some now make it to film - DOOM, Resident Evil and Halo to name a few...oh and of course Tomb Raider! ;-))and unfortunately, because the game is too difficult, some may rely on cheats to complete the game in order to see the ending - iDVD simply offers another way - it is not here to replace an X Box for gods sake, that is preposterous - it is simply a niche market that is at present being tested, I think of the games as interactive movies since the captions are quite life like in TR and I expect they will only get better since game graphics in general seem to get better every year...as far as quizzes go, I do not think BGT will go down that route and in fact, would not be surprised if come Dec 2007, there is a separate section for the iDVD game - ie not sitting with "interactive DVD's". As a result comparisons to quiz games is a non starter - iDVD will no doubt stick with interactive computer video games and the likes for now...
I am not here to make you keep your shares or indeed convince any one to buy but I feel that the developments of late make it quite easy to make ones mind up...the sp will more than likely rise from here, how you react to that is entirely up to you...the MM's will not be getting my shares for a little while longer though...;-)
