m5 - I think I have made comment on each action that has not impressed me at the time but here is a brief summary:
1. Communication skills
2. People skills - dubious appointment(s)
3. Ability to formulate and communicate a strong and clear strategy focussed on the big opportunities
4. Possible lack of strategic vision - hard to tell whether this is just communication
5. Poor judgement in allowing casual uncontrolled conversations with individual investors.
6. Inability to attract big insitutional investment
7. Inability to turn around poor corporate reputation
I had all of these as "unknowns" or "unprovens" at the end of 2005. How long should I give him to prove me wrong? At various times over the past year or so, I have listened to advice from all around telling me that the proof was "just around the corner". It wasn't.
I am confident in his abilities to manage competently in the short-term; I am not confident that he can deliver the big prize. I am holding for the reasons outlined earlier in my two scenarios.
I am very bullish.
