May I make a suggestion, go for a much smoother whisky like Balvenie rather than the harsh peaty malts, these are OK away up North, they tend to make one aggressive but with only the sheep for company its no problem.
Poorold is a Balvenie drinker and look how hail and hearty his posts are, over the top maybe but always finishing with a lol.
Just bought a 12yr old Balvenie for the g'friends dad.........put me in the good books and all that.....at 50 lol
He's a Govan man who appreciates such things including big havana cigars:)
Had a few bourbons last night and your advice has been heard and taken on board.
