Elsewhere, shares in BioProgress, which supplies delivery mechanisms for the pharmaceutical and medical device markets, rallied 4-1/2 pence to 57, after it said it is to buy France's Dexo SA for 12.5 mln eur.

The acquisition, made through newly-formed vehicle Dexo BioPharm Ltd, will be paid for with 8 mln eur of cash and the remainder in shares.
