Can you think of any more options?

If Barclays call in their facilties, the company will be clearly insolvent and the directors would be forced under the law to cease trading (not that they are doing much of that!) and call in the administrators. I would not be surprised if potential receivers have not already been briefed about this possibility - it is in everyone's best interests that they know what they are doing.

I am an investment banker so I have pulled a few plugs in my time [no crude jokes please!]! Obviously Barclays wont want to do this unless they have to but as ever the bank will be in a position where it has to decide how best to protect its primary asset (the plant - yes its their's not ours!) and whether there is any point "throwing more good money after bad".

This is a difficult call for them - all banks have a ying and a yang between on the one hand, the money makers who will have an "in for a penny in for a pound" mentalilty and the credit officers whose job is to protect the assets of the bank. The result depends on which side is winning at any given time!
