Battle Has Began (WHOG) Game On (Bottom Reached)
v0d00child - Tue, 30 Dec 03 :
Mike that comment wasn't aimed at you but to the other posters who have been blatently attempting to deramp this stock since the trading statement with no facts other than "this is a dog"! There is now funding in place so that WHOG can get their act together. Richard Burns Rally out next year. If WHOG do go for a right issue they will want to move the price north before then in which case I think we'll know more about the Texas game which as yet remains un-announanced. If it we're the RPG roll playing game for Vivendi "Shadows of Mordor" then I think you'll find that they won't have any problems with subscriptions for the placing??
Make of this what you will... as you can see it's from back in July...

EXCLUSIVE: WARTHOG WORKING ON LORD OF THE RINGS TITLE
The Texas arm of the company is creating a PC RPG for Vivendi - first details inside
But we can confirm that Warthog's title is not the widely rumoured LOTR Trilogy game for EA, but instead a brand new RPG for Vivendi, the holder of rights to Tolkien's fiction.
One highly placed source, speaking to us anonymously, said: "The rumours about Warthog doing a Lord of the Rings title for EA aren't true - but there's one coming for Vivendi..."

Warthog Working on Shadows of Mordor? [Uros "2Lions" Jojic] 11:50pm(GMT)
There's nothing like a juicy unconfirmed rumor to spice up an otherwise dull Friday evening. From Computer and Video Games: "We can reveal that the Warthog Texas - formerly Fever Pitch Studios - is working on a PC RPG for Vivendi Universal Games, believed to be known as 'Shadows of Mordor.' Rumours linking Warthog and Lord of the Rings have been rife of late, with a UK financial publication suggesting that Warthog Texas was working with EA on a title." C&VG further speculates that the project is slated for release in Q1 of 2005.
It sure would be nice to play a LotR RPG; still, there's always the danger of having a shitload of LotR games on the market; too many in fact. New Line Cinema LotR movie license is owned by EA and they're milking it for all its worth, while Vivendi, of course, keeps milking their Tolkien license. I just hope LotR fans don't get completely fed up with the current and future onslaught of LotR games.
A final comment, as I understand it Vivendi are in a wee bit of trouble of their own at the mo, so I can't see them cancelling a biggie like Lord of the Rings do you?
I should add that there are still high risks with this one as I'm sure will be pointed out in the following posts!
