BATM Advanced Communications (LSE:BVC) has signed the second stage of a deal with Hanaro Telecom, the second largest broadband communications provider in South Korea.
Under the deal, Hanaro will buy hundreds of BATM’s T5 Internet protocol switches for its e-Vally project in South Korea.

Industry sources estimated the cumulative value of all stages of the deal at several million dollars. BATM’s share trades at ₤0.15, reflecting a company value of ₤58 million.

The contract with Hanaro is part of BATM’s expansion in the Far East. The e-Vally project provides optical network services to over three million Hanaro subscribers, and enables communications operators to simultaneously transmit large volumes of voice and data communications services on high-speed fiber optic networks, using broadband technology.

BATM’s communications switches will enable Hanaro to provide advanced value added services to its customers, such as video on demand.
