Thanks for that mate ! I was doing quite a bit of research yesterday and I was tending towards a plasma really but not 100% decided yet. The LCD is a newer tech and you’re right the life span of a plasma is limited but on avg viewing we’re talking about 7-10 yrs and then you have to bin it. Whereas, you can buy a new light source for the LCD when it dies.
They both have their pros and cons – the plasma has better angle viewing – also a wider range of larger screen for plasma’s.
LCD have sharper colours etc ..
The only negative for me with plasma’s is the ‘burn in’ effect ...
Agree it has to be HD ready – Probably won’t buy till late Jan …

I wouldn’t have considered buying a plasma/LCD TV from ebuyer – perhaps worth considering– look v. cheap … Thanks, will check it out.
