Gringostar - It seems that I was so keen to give my support that I've managed to vote twice , how that happened I don't know ! Good to see that BGF has started moving up the table already , it more than doubled in 2005 , if you take the January low of 6p it has near trebled - let the trend continue , the company has positioned itself to achieve growth .

Arja - I think the spread is certainly a ' put off ' to some investors, my comment there is it will improve as price rises and will probably also close with volume . I tend to find when I go to the market an advertised spread of 16 - 17 , actually means you can buy at circa 16.8 and sell at 16.2 , so .6 rather than 1 , frustrating but not quite as bad as it at first seems . There are many ' penny shares ' where the situation is worse with wild spreads of say .5 on a 2p stock .
Talking of spreads brings me back to this issue of could high volume lead to an exaggerated mark up on price . Considering yesterdays trades the price was marked up twice after open on total volume of less than 90,000 , 16.5 - 16.75 then 16.75 - 17 . I have not yet checked to see if there was any significant currency movement yesterday as this might be an explanation . Any parity between OZ and UK Markets I would have expected to be incorporated at opening not after ?
The RIO discount does seem very large , I'm sure as you suggest there must be a difference in the quality of the share - currency fluctuation would never have that sort of impact . How can they trade on a 1 to 1 basis if there is a 10% price difference ?
