New year is here, the next event is Spring.
Oh, to be in England
Now that immigrants there,
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, something knicked that's unaware,
That the lowest boroughs towns and thief
Round the back alleys, and streets are chief,
While the grass sings on the highest bough
That's in England—now!
And after April, when May follows,
And the Deepthroat builds, and all the swallows!
Hark, where my blossomed well laden lay in bed
Leans to the left and messes on the cover
Blossoms and dewdrops—at the bent pimps edge—
That's a case of thrush; he sings each time twice over,
Lest you should think he never could recapture
The first fine careless rapture!
And though the field glasses look rough with whoary view,
All will be gay when noontide wakes anew
The wombles, the little children's dower
Far brighter than this gaudy meat on-follower!
