A bit quiet today with all closed, so the following may amuse you if you are lurking.

How I came by my 928 some 12 odd years ago now.


I was reading the morning newspaper when an ad caught my eye. The ad clearly announced, "Porsche 928gts For Sale. New! only £500. I thought it was very unusual to sell a Porsche for £500 and figured it was probably a joke, but then thought it was worth checking out anyhow.

I went to the house and met the lady who was selling the Porsche, she led me into the garage. Much to my surprise, inside the garage was a brand new 928gts.

I could hardly believe it, Wow! "Would it be all right if I take it for a test drive?" I asked, feeling sure that there must be something terribly wrong with the car.

OK, but take care, I'm told it is very fast, the lady said. Agains't my expectations, the car ran perfectly.

When I returned to her house, I said, it,s sold, and paid over the £500, Then I said, look, I've just got to ask, "Why are you selling this great car for only £500! ?

The lady laughed and replied, "Well, my husband just ran off with his receptionist, and he told me I could have the house and the furniture, but I was to sell his Porsche and send him the money!"

So you see griss, it's like trading the Dow, now and again, you just need that extra little bit of luck.
