"The website received almost 750,000 orders - a rate of one every nine seconds - on December 4, its busiest day this Christmas."
Maths never was the strong point of most journalists, who normally like to over-egg a story. Unfortunately for this journo she missed a trick as the reality is actually 81 times better/more impressive than reported, i.e. 750,000 in a day is a rate of nine a second; not one every nine seconds. (Well the truth is she's probably not even guilty of attempting any mathematical calculation in the first place, rather a sloppy bit of mis-reporting, as you'd never get to the quoted figure by any conceivable miscalculation.)
