It pains me to do this but I must say that the market makers are not the villains - they are just there to make a profit. It cannot be easy trying to balance the books when surges of buying (or selling) occur. No MM is going to keep the price up when all the punters are selling and all his fellow MMs are taking defensive action by dropping the price.
It is all too easy to find someone to blame and to ignore the real cause of the problem.
