No doubt the Phulbari coalmine project will be developped and some people needs to be relocated. GoB is now realising the important of the coal to the country. See post 6134 of 6154.
''The policy, drafted by a team of local experts, recommends the immediate declaration of a coal zone in northern Bangladesh, saying it has the potential to become the "power house."''. "In a bid to ensure energy security, coal should be developed as an alternative source of domestic energy for reducing the growing pressure on natural gas and reliance on imported oil for power generation,"
If that is the case then some people will be relocated. The coal underneath the agricultural land belongs to whole nation, deperate for a life comparable to neighbouring countries.
In any relocation there is going to be some disputes..what is needed a process to resolve such a disputes. This process is already agreed as part of Environmental Impact Assessment.
