ASHTEAD (AHT) 158.25p Offer. If I was starting again on Tuesday 2 January 2007 I'd be buying £30,000 worth of AHT, assuming the general market for the day looked OK.
Only a further 9/10 weeks till AHT release their 3rd Qtr Results.....Which I think will again be impressive. We should have further confirmation that the integration of the ex-NationsRent stores is going to plan & improvements are being achieved.
Those that read the last set of results & listened to the Webcast will be aware that AHT beleive that considerable improvement/growth can be had from the ex-NR stores.
Their utilization was only around 55% (from memory) compared to 72% for the Sunbelt Stores......So expected growth there....
The UK's A PLANT is also expected to show improvement along with Ashtead Techknowledgy which is showing very good returns anyway.
I will of course review my holdings in March 2007 when I see the Results.

PETREL RESOURCES (PET) 50p OFFER. This is a tricky one. With Saddham Husseins' execution things might be a bit scary for a few days, so I think I'd watch closely for a while or maybe dip my toe in with a partial buy if I got an indication of what share holders confidence is like. Ie any Buying/Selling on the day.
The Iraqi parliament is trying to get their Hydrocarbon Law through, it has been drafted & is basically about who gets what revenues from the vast Oil supply that Iraq is known to have. The three main groups in Iraq are Sunnis, Shias & Kurds. The mainly Shia & Kurdish areas have oil.....the mainly Sunni Arab area doesn't.....So a tricky one to work out....hopefully they will.
Petrel (PET) is an Irish company & as such is neutral ie not US or UK & has been working in Iraq for sometime. & I understant was the first European company to be awarded a contract (S&L) by the new regime.
It has Japanese financial backing & an Iraqi partner so has to be well placed to benefit from contract awards if & when they are dished out.
Petrel have a sister oil company working in Iran & so demonstrates that the PET Managent can get on with all sides.

PET is obviously a risky play & must be viewed as such....rewards if things go PETs way will be very good indeed.
PETs market cap of £33M is ridiculously low.

CENES PHARMA (CEN) 8p OFFER.
As you will see by reading the above link CEN will have results for its drug M6G......
Phase III trials of M6G
"CeNeS is also pleased to announce that it has successfully completed patient
recruitment in its pivotal Phase III trial with M6G in Europe (Study M6G022) for the treatment of post operative pain. The study enrolled over 500 patients at 24 centres in six countries. Results from the study are expected in early 2007".
In my opinion if the study is positive then CEN will either find an European partner or will be taken over.....there has been press speculation that AstraZenica (AZN) will be the suitor.....The latter is my bet at around 16p I'd have thought.
So results out early 2007.....if these are negative then CENs SP will fall sharply....so a gamble this one for sure.

Newmark Securities (NWT) 1.05p OFFER.
Well NWTs results have improved considerably & they have picked up BAE Systems as a customer. I'd think the SP will double by the time the next set of results come out in July 2007.

URANIUM RESOURCES (URA) 4.5p OFFER.
A Rescuer tip to me at 2.25p...I bought a tad over 200,000...
Problems include a massive spread & only 3 Market Makers although recently one has been able to buy or sell 1 million shares online....which is a good sign.
