I actually subscribe to the theory that there is a big pharma working for them in the wings.I don't actually think "Slippery" as you choose to call him (makes me laugh)necessarily is completely in control of his destiny due to "big pharma" being in control of negotiations hence the misguided time horizons that seem to have been given. He does seem adamant that it will happen and will be big...just a matter of when. The reason I think there is someone else out there doing the deals is that he has managed to pull announcements out of the bag at remarkably opportune moments ie just before or at time of results.I think the big pharma might be in effect "warehousing" some agreements. Anyway here am I clutching at straws like the rest....oh dear!!!
Biotech- find the area difficult. The reasons I don't like it is that there is a long lead to actually making money and also the regulatory approval process is hit and miss and invariably delayed.YRK might be worth keeping an eye on as have pretty much gone through the regulatory hoops and the product will be launched in 2007.Collins Stewart have something like a 340p price target I believe. Some people are wary of Terry Sadler after Bioglan but I think he is ok.
OXB- I know it has a big following but haven't had a proper look at it.The reason I am in PRM is on the back of the "financially transform the company" statement and that the on the diagnostic side it is a lot faster and easier to get regulatory approval.Talking of which I wonder where they are with Biosite as they are supposed to be shortly submitting their new stroke panel which if they use PRM biomarkers will trigger a fairly decent milestone payment.
Have looked at Alizyme- seem a pretty competent ex- glaxo management team but have struggled to find a partner and have basically had to put themselves up for sale.In a very competitive market segment though.Allergy Therapeutics is an interesting stock that I am keeping an eye on that not many people seem to follow.
It is only recently I have seriously followed PRM and was fortunate to pick stock up in the late 30's early 40's.It is quite a saga following it and to(try and) find out what seems to be happening.
