Please find below some highlights from the healthcare company presentations at the recent Davy conference.
The bullet points are not intended to provide a full description of the companies; merely interesting commentary from each of the presenters about prospects in their respective businesses.
ALLTRACEL – Tony Richardson
Very upbeat and “hungry” presentation by CEO; well balanced across wound, oral, and cholesterol
Describes Alltracel as a medtech company focused on consumer healthcare and cholesterol management
52 co-brand partners in 40 markets today. Ten of these agreements account for 85% of the revenue
Enterprise deals in woundcare defined across the five major markets and are those that require significant partner “effort” financially. Deals already signed in Japan, China, talks ongoing in US, store brand already in UK.
Focussed specifically on Yunnan Baiyao opportunity – breaking through to the retail opportunity using m-doc in the flagship range. Chinese pricing mentioned as particularly challenging.
Westone cited as the channel for m-doc in oral care, nice fit involved. It could also be the means of entry into the professional arena.
Integration of the business has gone well. Very wide spread of product and market opportunities now being analysed here
Cholesterol work has moved from validation to development
Preliminary human studies now completed – baseline clinical study to begin in Q1, 2006 (looking at extended timelines, dosage).
Food looks like the likely route to market. Japan in the first instance, with US and Europe also being looked at. Europe a regulatory nightmare !
Highlighted the 3 areas that Alltracel will seek to execute on for the rest of 2005.
