The regeneration article covered three pages and highlighted the current focus on recycling and renewables. It points out that,
...around 23% of UK household waste is now recycled. But this is still low by international, or at least European standards: Germany recycles 57% of its rubbish, whereas the Netherlands recycles more than 60%...'
'...the UK government is now keen to increase the rate of recycling, and is putting pressure on councils to do what they can to encourage it...'
The bit rellevant to ALK -
'...On the cusp are businesses that extract methane from landfill sites and abandoned mines and turn it into electricity...'
The article gives a positive mention to other co's in the recycling/renewable businesses and is generally up beat for the future. It lists 16 'renewable plays' ALK included.
Anyway the upshot (for me) is that I am happy to hold for the long term.
