My thinking is along the same lines as yours. A few relatives
of mine who have been brave enough recently to venture up to
the West End in London have observed loads of shoppers spending
their cash. CD's and DVDs are a popular gift for Xmas presents
and as Grant Mac has pointed out you cannot buy anyone a
download as a present.
Although AMU are facing tough conditions I just hope they were
just being overly cautious with their statement regarding
Xmas trading. Turnover has consistently increased over the last
year so why should it be any different in their busiest period?
Personally, it makes no sense to me even thinking of dumping AMU
now not after holding it for so long. A good Jan06 trading statement
and things will look a lot better for the company next year.
Only a few more weeks to wait and we all be aware of how well or
bad things are going.
