You are right! But we are just as adrift in checking 40/44ft trailers that
come through the tunnel and on board ship.
Except for a few older ones, the the roof of a 40 trailer is fibreglass so
as to allow as much light through as possible but combined with strength.
Unless things have changed, I do not see scanning gantries at the docks!
The vehicle slows down as it is scanned and any heat source (illegals) is
immediately seen. No poking about with sniffer tubes.
Ergo. Scan ARX containers for suspicious contents. Each container (from
industry) would have a packing manifest so that a comparison could be made
with contents scanned.
As you infer, scanning has never been done in the past because it's
not possible with ally. Sales ahoy!
