- yes, I was at my hives this afternoon (S London) The air temperature was 7c and the overnight had only been 5c - quite a lot of bees were flying out - but I think they were on 'cleansing flights' as they won't defecate within the hive.

- if there was any sun I wouldn't be at all surprised to see some of them searching out and taking advantage of a bit of nectar!

But it's all wrong and I don't like it! - they're using up energy/food stores when they should be overwintering within the hive in a tight cluster!

----then again, what do we know?
