energy - is that a call option, good trading by the way - look forward to reading your posts on the market in 2003.
opinion seems fairy mixed with some taliking about a sell off in janauary by large funds and new lows with and a positive second half of the year thus engineering a bear market up year in 2003, it all seems like speculation to me at the moment but opinion seems failry solidly set that long term investors are still very wary of the market and unless there is a major charge in sentiment I feel the market with continue to drift down. From the long point of view the ftse yield is anything but remarkable - hardly adequate compensation for the risk of capital fluctuation for investors, but it's is still possible to construct a portfolio of 4 or 6 ftse stocks that would give a combined yield of between 5 and 7% which would be quite a tax efficient home for some cash imo, the fact is some stocks are not technically expensive but neither are they trading at bargin basement prices. So when you're in the pub tonight and someone says the words ftse and 5000 it may be a good idea to ask they why :)
