Ta rl - well, I had another Google, but couldn't see anything new re Korea. I don't remember seeing this (though it's probably been posted before). Here it is anyway (dated 11th November 2003):



The Alphamosaic VideoCore platform is now being used to add mobile TV to mobile handsets.
Using Alphamosaic technology it is now possible for the first time to combine long battery life with high quality TV pictures.
The company has recently announced a collaboration with a major broadcasting company and system houses in Japan.
Trials of this world first application are expected to start in Japan before the end of 2003 and Alan Henderson, Alphamosaic's Vice President of Sales and Business Development believes that the company is ideally placed to capitalise on what is expected to be world wide consumer demand for television enabled mobiles.

Have invented VideoCore, a programmable low power architecture, particularly targeting 2D data such video and image processing. First product VC01, now in volume manufacture at 0.13um CMOS, is capable of running MPEG4 encode CIF quality image at 30 frames per second under 60mW. The company has filed 15 patents. The company plans to launch at the end of Q1 2004 its second generation super scalar processor chip for images of VGA size for multi-megapixel camera phones.
