I wouldn`t exactly "bet the farm" on this company either, but as far as the Silkwood deal is concerned, I think a guaranteed (minimum) cash flow over 5 years totalling a cool $15 million, even if there are NO buyers for the finished products, speaks volumes for Silkwood`s confidence in the future of the technology......and reimbursing the developers to the tune of nearly half a million dollars for R & D costs, says even more. Nobody gives away $15.43 million if they don`t have faith in their ability to generate sales using the new process, and if the material works in one instance, it will work in others too. New materials (or in this case a mixture of materials) are rarely confined to just one industry, or to the manufacture of just one product line.
Of course, anything can turn into a disappointment, but by all accounts this process does work (so far), and it works well....and those who signed the contracts know it far better than we do.
Hopefully 2004 will put a little more fizz in the share price, but this time I for one will not be losing any sleep over it, whichever way it goes. 3DM is just one company with huge potential; this time round I have four of them (including 3DM).
Happy New Year to all
