It reported results today and produced pre exceptional and goodwill earnings of 0.12p for the first half. The outlook statement was pretty confident and I had a chat with the FD today who said the second half is looking pretty good. I would imagine the company would be able to do at least 0.12p again in the second half to make earnings of 0.24p for the year.

The star performer in the first half was electronic systems and it should have a good second half although contracts are on the whole quite chunky so its difficult to tell in what period they will fall. Security products will have a much better second half with turnover expected to rise 20% from a quiet first half. Looking forward into 2007 there are exciting prospects the company remarks on. They are also looking to get a UL approval for their Janus product. Once they have this they will be able to sell Janus across the middle east and more importantly the US. That should bring about a step change in NWT's business and growth prospects.
The other major plus is directors hold a large amount of shares. They also believe the company is cheap and prior to entering the close period were mopping up any large lines of stock. I expect they will continue buying aggressively following todays results as well.
