December 24, 2006 - Creative Movies in co-operation with Sennheiser Communications, Razer, Fragbet, Qpad, ICY BOX and Spawnpoint announces the “$2,000 Creative Movies Director's CUT" movie making contest with lots of Hardware & Cash prizes making it one the largest in the E-Sport scene.
Entries can be made in 2 categories, "Counter-Strike" and "Open Games". Contestants can find contest information including full list of categories by clicking on the "RULES" tab on the left.
One thing which makes this contest even special is that its open for all parts of the world. Yes, you heard it. If you are a residence of this planet, you can take part in this contest..
The contest starts on 24th December 2006 And ends on 5th February 2007. So there is enough time for all of you to finish your videos by that time.
Please NOTE : Movies will NOT be judged on frags. CM team will choose the best movies and then put them online for public voting. And the final winner will be decided by 30% of the audience votes and 70% of the CM judges' votes.

As you‘re all aware we‘re on the brink of Christmas And New Year, so to bring the festivities even closer, read more to see what we‘ve in store for you.
Do you crave a platform where you can Show your work, Your skills, and basically Show the world what you are capable of ? Then grab your cameras, load your games, and fire up your programs and show us your Cut! We‘re inviting you to create a film, or even films, on almost anything you like game related, of minimum of 5mins and you can win prizes worth $2,000, in Creative Movies: Director‘s CUT, a worldwide movie making contest!
What is Director‘s CUT all about?
Well it‘s all about Director‘s Creativity, Uniqueness and Tactfulness. These are the 3 key elements all the movies will be judged on.
So all of those who thinks that only "Best Frags Video" can make yourself a winner, then sure, if they also include the important movie making elements.
So in short, the Best Frag video is not the main criteria, none of the movies will be shortlisted on the basis of frags.
The 2 games participants can make movies on are:
1.Counter Strike.
2.Open Game.
In, Counter Strike, you can make a frag movie, or a machinima movie, or a live action or anything but ofcourse relating to the game counter strike.
For Open games, you are allowed to use any game. Be it Quake, Unreal, WoW, Battlefield, or any other game which you play or make movies on, it can again be a machinima, a frag movie, a trick jump movie, a live action movie or anything.
The reason we prioritized counter strike as one category is that because we are not yet aware about the feedback we‘ll get from the community other than counter strike, if we get a good response, then we assure a single game will never prioritized.
The contest starts today 24th of December and ends on February 5th 2007. So make sure you submit your movie before 5th feb.
All the submitted movies will be reviewed by CM, and then these movies will be put online for public voting. And the final winner will be decided by 30% of the audience votes and 70% of the CM judges' votes. So the judges will take the final decision.
