2005, a pivotal year for Axis-Shield, with strong growth and profitability
briano - Tue, 20 Dec 05 :
wan.........I didn't hear the analysts' meeting. Was there any comment about Afinion roll out in Europe, which has been going a bit longer than the U.S.?
I am a bit concerned about the lack of numbers (units placed or revenue) on Afinion generally. I have no doubts about the quality of the machine, but like all new entrants to the medical and diagnostics market, it will take a bit of time before it is known how successful it is likely to be.
Historically, ASD are very professional in the way they go about business and have, to my knowledge, never let shareholders down by withholding information. If that is still the case, then we are probably 6 months behind schedule, and I therefore expect the sp to continue to be rangebound (300p - 330p) for a bit longer. I accept ASD are not a one product company (far from it), but as I stated recently, I believe the real growth will come from Afinion, and that is what will drive profitability and therefore the sp.
Just to clarify my position - I am still on the sidelines, but constantly watching for the right opportunity to get back in. The lower the better, obviously!!
