It seems that our well compensated executive board has created a tactical disaster. For a company that has the right product at the right time the results of this misstep will set the company back at the very time it should be emerging as a winner in its field. I feel for all the stockholders and employees that have supported this company as management has run this ship aground and those responsible deserve to be removed.

DFIB Australia's Ventracor Appoints US-based Medical Device Veteran as COO to Lead Strategic Marketing, Sales and Distribution in USA and Europe
2/18/2005 6:30:13 AM
SYDNEY, Feb 18, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- International medical technology company, Ventracor Limited ( VTCRY ), today announced the immediate appointment of Mr. Peter Crosby as Chief Operating Officer to lead the company's strategic marketing, sales and distribution in Europe and the USA.

Mr. Crosby will initially focus on marketing and sales of the VentrAssist(TM) left ventricular assist system (LVAS), as well as clinical trials and regulatory approvals. He brings to Ventracor more than 20 years experience in the global commercialisation of cardiac medical devices and specialist skills in product development, marketing, strategic planning and business development.

"We are pleased Ventracor has attracted such a widely experienced and well respected medical device executive to join our team and lead our international efforts to rapidly commercialise the VentrAssist(TM), " Ventracor's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Colin Sutton, PhD, said.

Mr. Crosby has been the CEO of four medical device companies in three countries and was most recently President and CEO of Ischemia Technologies, a Denver-based company that developed a new and proprietary diagnostic test for cardiac ischemia.

Mr. Crosby is a member of the Board of Directors of Cardiac Science Inc ( DFIB ), a developer and manufacturer of automatic external defibrillators (AED). Mr. Crosby also serves as Chairman of the Board of CardioComm Solutions, Inc, a Canadian developer of software products and Internet solutions for ECG management.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Engineering Science from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Crosby will be based in the US.

About Ventracor

Ventracor ( VTCRY ) is an international medical technology company that has developed a life-saving heart pump, the VentrAssist(TM) left ventricular assist system (LVAS), for patients in cardiac failure. The company is focused on commercializing the VentrAssist(TM) and bringing it to global markets in record time. Ventracor is confident of obtaining a significant share of the massive LVAS market, which independent analysts expect to be valued at between $US7.5 billion and $US12 billion per year.

The VentrAssist(TM) LVAS

The VentrAssist(TM) LVAS provides left heart support and is designed as a permanent alternative to a heart transplant. The titanium alloy pump is implanted below the diaphragm and is connected to the circulatory system using standard fabric tubes known as vascular grafts. The device itself is 2.5 inches (60 mm) in diameter and weighs just 10oz (298 grams).

Did you hear DFIB mentioned in TASR conference call today?

There was a reference made in the Q&A by the CEO or some management level person answering a question. He basiclly said it doesn't matter if you own Taser or Defibullator or any other stock the share price will swing. The important thing to remember we are profitable, got orders out the wah-zoo(in so many words), and 35 million in the bank. We are building a ten million dollar building to expand operations we already bought the land.

Used Defibullator as a reference tool (very good!)

What if - "if" they plan on equipting each officer that carries a Taser with a AED? Hummmmmmm!

Volumes up on last weeks FDA approval. Looks like they have big orders also. This could get really big!

This senario below could be the news in the future IMO

If someone gets shot by a Taser, they would get revived by a defibrillator should the heart rhythms fail due to drugs in the system of the person being subdued.

This could be big if the orders for defibrillators increase to fill the need to revive a criminal.

One defibrillator sale for every Taser sale, that would work for me!

Hey trade!!

turkey day weekend was fantastic!! Hope yours was good too.

DFIB looks to take out the recent bottom and get back to around $3 or less. I have a little which I'm holding but most of the money went into XM which is setting new highs.

Works for me!

Wally: RB stb again this a.m., and from the looks DFIB isn't setting any records either. How was thanksgiving for ya?

I let it ride trade....

I'm not overly exposed to the market right now. If I come back from vaca and wavx or dfib have tanked, I'll load up. If they haven't tanked, then it's not an issue. If they rally hard, I have plenty of both to enjoy the ride.

The market could easily have a 10-15% pullback from here providing some opps to put cash to work for a end of the year move. That'd be a pretty modest correction with the run since march.

We'll see what happens. Could go straight back to 5000 on the comp. But that probably won't happen while I'm away ;o)

Take care.

OT CMF: XMSR is one which I have about 16000 shares of. It is a duopoly with 90% market share. I own it at various levels, anywhere from $1.85 to $13. I have a good amount of faith in the company and I own the product, I have had the product and the stock since Nov 01 when they went national.

I think it should go to a $25 stock in 12 months or less. If you can nibble at it here and there it should work out. It varies entry wise but if you can get it on a dip and pay $12.50-13 it should work well for you with a year or less anyway.

I really love the product CD quality Digital radio with 100 channels 40 of which have no commercials at all.

Simon: I have owned DFIB for going on 2 years. I think it is a phenominal small company. Ranked by Forbes 2 yrs running as one of the fasted growing 200 companys in the US. It is in the Russell 3000 2 yrs running.

It has over 70 patents and the only manufacture approved by the FDA.
They have the only dfibs accepted by the FDA for kids 8ys and below. And the only FDA dfibs for adults.

Legislation is taking hold in many states to have dfibs in schools

Dfib is putting product on the airlines as well as hospitals and rescue even the USA's blackhawk choppers. It is being tested in Vet Hospitals.

GE: is going to make a phenominal partner for distribution and promotion world wide. imo, The reason why DFIB tripled its manufacturing capactity earlier in the yr., although they have increased the sales force very substantially and have an estimated 50 distributors worldwide within the last twelve months.

Breakeven/ by year end and projected positive EPS for 04.

Don't be shocked to see GE gobble this company up within 36 months. jmho

Glad you started the board, I was going to if you hadn't. KUDOS

Take a look at XMSR when you have a chance. Although it will likely pull back for a while, it is # 1 in a duopoly with 90% market share on a brand new technology. imho a $30 stcck in 2 years.

Good luck!
