The 13th China IDC Industry Annual Ceremony was held from December 11 to 13 at the China National Convention Center. Themed as “Empowering Enterprise Digital Transformation,” this year’s ceremony attracted experts from Internet service, data center, and cloud computing industries, as well as the leadership from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the state agency responsible for regulation and development of the Internet, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

At the Technology Innovation Forum, Xin Lu, Assistant VP at ChinaCache, shared the company’s explorations of edge computing and the experience to be the first CDN company to integrate CDN with the edge cloud platform.

According to IDC’s estimate, there will be more than 50 billion devices connected to the Internet by 2020, and which more than 50% of the data will be processed, analyzed, and stored at edge network. In addition, Gartner has listed edge computing as one of the “Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2019,” stating that the topology will address challenges ranging from high WAN costs and unacceptable levels of latency. As edge computing is still at the early stage of development, the earlier a company enters the field, the more opportunities it will get.

Edge computing is considered as an important factor in achieving physical computing, smart cities, ubiquitous computing and the Internet of Things. In March 2018, Alibaba Cloud announced a strategic investment in edge computing and introduced Link Edge and edge network service to build a “ubiquitous cloud.” Alibaba Cloud’s edge computing can be applied to a variety of smart applications, including autonomous vehicles, industrial manufacturing automation, and routers etc.

Since last year, the service requests ChinaCache received has more than doubled, and therefore it has become more challenging to manage node capacities. To be able to handle customers’ requests more efficiently and improve customer experience, ChinaCache upgraded its technologies so that its CDN nodes can handle traffic more flexibly and pair with Alibaba Cloud’s edge computing platform, which led to cooperation between the two companies.

At the moment, many cloud service providers are working on their own edge computing deployment but cannot support sustainable development because the scale of their operations and data are not large enough. ChinaCache carries large volumes of businesses and can provide a variety of software layer services to drive a series of demand evolution. By deploying CDN on Alibaba’s edge computing platform, ChinaCache is able to further explore the service model of edge computing.

Both CDN and edge computing are deployed close to end users, and CDN may be one of the largest application scenarios of edge computing in the future.

ChinaCache CDN has several advantages on edge computing, including fast deployment with Docker and intelligent analytics on load balancing. In addition, ChinaCache has developed customized software structures for use under IoT scenarios, improving the efficiency of the network.

The CDN + edge computing solution, developed in partnership with Alibaba Cloud, is constantly optimized and has seen a growing amount of traffic from customers. Lu believes that there is a bright future for edge computing. In the era of Internet of Things, ChinaCache will continue to strive for optimal delivery results for clients through more focused solutions.

Got me some 150's

This stock has been and still is under an unrelenting selling attack for months.

.Any and all bids are hit.The pros are short selling this stock. I have not seen an uptick in months.

This Co. is supposed to be a leader in its field in China.

Safer to wait and see if it catches a bid then to buy it up.

I know everyone can find an exception, but for the most part, they rarely gap and run all day recently.

Exceptions would be if they had a large short position relative to float.

Pretty sure someone shorted a large amount as this went $1.20 and higher.

Unless there is more buyers stepping in, the shorts will push this down.

Shorts have not been playing nice recently on morning pops.

Algos just short because the stock is above some VWAP and the stock just fades.

Hard for smaller guys to play morning open runs.
